Margaret Toombs' love for horses is evident and inspiring. From her early experiences with a pony at six years old to later achievements in horse riding and showing, she clearly had a deep connection with these animals. Her success in horse shows and the recognition she received, including being featured on the Southwestern Bell billing insert and having her painting displayed in a prestigious location like a conference room in the state capital building in Topeka, is truly commendable.

Additionally, her talent as an artist adds another dimension to her character, showcasing her creative abilities and the meaningful stories she portrayed through her art. The painting "Turning the Sod" seems to capture a moment close to her heart, reflecting her memories of her father and her upbringing on the farm.

Margaret and Tom built the basement first in the 1960s, along with the garage, laundry room, and bathroom. This was home for their family of six.   In the 1970s, with the help of his wife and four kids (family members and good friends), the house was completed with three additional bedrooms and a bathroom. Margaret and Tom committed to their journey, filled with hard work, passion, and creative pursuits. It shows how pursuing one's interests and talents can lead to personal fulfillment and recognition and appreciation from others.
